SUMMARY:First Response Training - 2nd Warwick HQ
DESCRIPTION:This course is available for all adult volunteers in Warwickshire Scouting.  \n\n\n\nThe Warwickshire County Executive Committee have committed to funding free First Aid training for Warwickshire Scout adult volunteers. \n\n\n\nTo ensure efficient take up of places\, we ask that if you need to cancel a place after booking that you give at least two weeks’ notice. If cancelled after this date and the place is not filled\, then your Scout Group/District will be invoiced for the place. We hope you understand as places are limited. \n\n\n\nFirst Response Course\n\n\n\nLife Support\n\n\n\n\nThe principles of first aid and initial response (arriving at and managing an incident)\n\n\n\nEmergency life support (recovery position and safe airway)\n\n\n\nCPR\, including technique for adults and children\n\n\n\nChoking\n\n\n\nCauses and treatment of unresponsiveness\n\n\n\n\nTrauma and injury\n\n\n\n\nShock\n\n\n\nBleeding\n\n\n\nFractures and sprains\n\n\n\nHead injuries\n\n\n\nDental incidents\n\n\n\nBurns\n\n\n\n\nMajor Illness\n\n\n\n\nAsthma\n\n\n\nAnaphylaxis\n\n\n\nHeart Attack\n\n\n\nStroke\n\n\n\nSeizures\n\n\n\nDiabetes\n\n\n\nSepsis and meningitis\n\n\n\n\nThe building will be open from 9.15 for you to get a drink prior to a prompt start at 9.30am.  We will have a half hour break for lunch and aim to finish the course by 4pm. Please wear comfortable clothing appropriate to some ‘role play’ on the floor. \n\n\n\nJoining Instructions\, including current Covid-19 procedures will be issued 2 days before the event. \n\n\n\nPlease bring your own lunch.  There will be tea\, coffee and squash available all day.
